Rhino is excited to announce our Official Partnership with the Liberty Conference, the Northeast’s newest D1-A Collegiate Rugby Conference.
The new 17 team Conference was formed leading up to the 2017 Fall 15’s season, with the intention of setting a new standard for college rugby in the Northeast. The Inaugural Season was an enormous success - with plenty of high-level competition and a Bowl Series to cap it all off. Rhino was the Official Ball Sponsor at the Bowl Series, and the idea of a Conference Partnership was created there.
“We are very excited to join forces with an outstanding rugby brand in Rhino. I was incredibly impressed by both their professionalism and the quality of the product Fordham received at the Collegiate Rugby Championships,” said Andrew Gheraldi, Liberty Conference Commissioner and Director of Rugby at Fordham University. “Partnering with outstanding professionals who truly know the college game will allow us to further market the Liberty Conference regionally and nationally.”
The Liberty Conference and Rhino will now be continually working together to continue to grow Rugby in the northeast. “The Liberty Conference is a fantastic partner for us”, said James Hill, a Rhino representative. “The teams in the conference are among the best in the country, and we’re always looking for organizations to partner with that bring new things to the table. The Liberty Conference exemplifies rugby excellence in this part of the country, and we’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work with its members.”
The Liberty Conference will be playing 15’s in the fall and 7’s in the spring, and will continue to set the bar higher and higher for rugby in the northeast.
The inaugural Liberty Rugby Conference 7s Series will crown a champion across three events: Stony Brook 7s - April 7th; Rhode Island 7s - April 21st; and Colgate 7s - May 5th. Registration for the 2017 Liberty Rugby Conference 7s Series is open on the Liberty Website (www.libertyrugbyconference.com).
